Genesis 6:9, “…He (Noah) tried always to conduct his affairs according to God’s will.”
What do you do when no one is looking? What do you do in private, when there is no one to watch you? The righteous person “tries” even in private to follow the Lord God, in his thoughts, actions and attitudes. The world could have cared less if Noah followed the Lord. The world would have encouraged him to walk away from God…but Noah cared because he was righteous. Walking righteous doesn’t come by chance or happenstance. It comes because we desire to please a God that loves us with all His being. You will not walk with God today by accident or chance. You will walk with God only if you desire to do so, and nothing less. If there is no “trying” on your part, you can rest assured that you are not walking with God, and your life is not bringing pleasure to Him. How sad to live knowing that our lives are not bringing pleasure but pain to the God who created us. Our call is to “try” with all our being to walk with the God who loves us and gave His Son for our soul.
