2 Kings 19:35, “That very night the angel of the Lord killed 185,000 Assyrian troops and dead bodies were seen all across the landscape till morning.”
While we like to think if angels as full of compassion and always doing good things, the sobering truth is God’s angels can bring death at His bidding. On this occasion the angel of the Lord killed a massive number of Assyrian troops who were wicked and ungodly. At the end of the age, angels will be messengers of destruction upon this earth. The fact is, angels do precisely the bidding of God, and Him alone. Never take lightly God’s invisible army. While we cannot see them, they are there and they are serious about the assignments of Almighty God. Angels are sent to protect the righteous, but they also will serve as God’s choice vessels to gather all who have rejected the gospel at God’s timing.
