When Your Character is Attacked, God Knows the Truth

Genesis 39:17, “…That Hebrew slave you’ve had around here tried to rape me, and I was only saved by my screams.” (LB)
Has your character ever been attacked? Has someone ever told lies about you and you knew that where lies? What is a person to do? Such was the case in the life of Joseph in this passage. Potiphar’s wife had lied about Joseph, declaring that he “raped her”. Joseph had remained true to God and his faith. Yet, that didn’t alter this woman’s disposition. Joseph knew that God was God and that He was powerful enough to deliver Joseph and to prove his innocence. The same holds true for us today. If you have been lied about, and your character has been deliberately tarnished, trust in the fact that God knows the complete truth and He has the power to set the record straight anytime He desires. Joseph was blessed everywhere he went…because he lived his life in serious obedience before the God of the universe.
