1 Peter 2:11, “Dear brothers, you are only visitors here. Since your real home is in heaven, I beg you to keep away from evil pleasures of this world; they are not for you, for they fight against your very souls.”
The call of God to each of our lives is to remember that life on this earth is short at best. We are to live “lightly” in this world, and consider ourselves visitors here, because our real home is not located on planet earth but in heaven. The world hates the genuine Christian because we are born from above, and someday we will go home to be with our Father, and all the saints for eternity. If we are a child of God, ours is to stay away from the evil pleasures of this world, knowing that someday our Father will come and take us up and reward us for faithful, godly, and obedient living. When the lures of the flesh attack the fiber of your being, keep in mind that your home is in heaven. When we stand before the presence of Jesus, we will be most glad that we stayed away from the lures and evil pleasures of this wicked and sinful world.
