1 Peter 4:1, “….You must have the same attitude he did; You must be ready to suffer too…”
The Christ that we serve, was a Christ of suffering and well acquainted with all types of grief. He knew from eternity past that He would come in the form of a baby, to grow up and to be the sin sacrifice for all who believe. If you read Scripture carefully you will find the Lord experience all types of suffering. He suffered temptation by the devil. He suffered rejection by others around him. He was despised and rejected. Now compare His life to what many Christians expect today…wealth, fame, fortune, popularity and praise. If you are genuine in following the Lord….it will come through in the fact that you are willing to suffer if need be to glorify your Lord. Jesus did all things to glorify the Father in heaven…even suffer. We must be ready to suffer…and we will if we are genuine.
God used Peter to pen these words…and Peter suffered and was crucified upside down for his faith in Christ. Are we ready to suffer for the Christ who saved you if you are redeemed of the Lord?
