Matthew 5:13, “You are the salt of the earth….”
Our Lord never minces His words. He is always at the point. In speaking to His disciples and to all who seriously follow Him, He gives us a clear word…we are the salt of the earth. Salt has a very specific purpose for which it was created. It both preserves and enhances flavor. It is through our serious godly walk that we preserve this land that we live in, starting with our homes. The first and most natural place to be salt is the homes we live in. God has place us precisely where He wants us and He yearns for us to preserve and enhance the flavor of our homes, and every place we touch. The place where you work, teach or live today is made different as you are “salt” to your area of influence. Make no mistake about it…we will be held accountable for being “salt” to the world we live. The question is…what type of “salt” are we in the world?
