2 Samuel 12:1, “Then the Lord sent Nathan to David. And he came to him and said….”
If another person close to you was ruining their lives what would you do? How would you respond? David had sinned against God, but with that sin, Nathan was a willing vessel to be used before David to reorient him to the Living God. Consider these characteristics in the life of Nathan toward David. 1) A good friend involves himself/herself in other’s lives without being asked for their good. 2) A good friend is painfully direct for the best interest of the other party. 3) A good friend is willing to place himself or herself at risk. 4) A good friend refuses to watch others wreck their lives without being involved. 5) A good friend refuses to weigh what God says against what others think. 6) A good friend will say what God lays on his heart without recoiling. 7) A good friend leaves the consequences of his obedience to the Lord God. Are you willing to speak truth to others if God sends you into their lives…it may well save their life!
