Deuteronomy 8:18, “Always remember that is the Lord your God who gives you power to become rich, and he does it to fulfill his promise to your ancestors.”
Our sinful and fallen nature is so distorted that we live putting confidence in “ourselves”, “our abilities”, our knowledge” and “our energies”. To think that we are anything apart from the creative hand of Holy God is folly. In a moment’s time, a person can lose health and energy due to dreaded diseases that are lurking around us. The call of God is that we “always remember” Him. It is God that gives you eyes to read this devotion, and the mind to absorb, comprehend and understand. It is God who has given us the mind, energy, and abilities that we have. To claim that we can make ourselves, and sustain ourselves is the height of folly. It is God who is behind your energy, blessings, and financial successes. If you choose to forget the Lord, He has sobering ways to bring us to humility. Remember God today as you walk throughout your life by thanking Him, worshipping Him and pointing others to Him and His wonderful love.
