Luke 1:38, “Mary said, ‘I am the Lord’s servant, and I am willing to do whatever he wants…” (LB)
What type of life is pleasing and honoring to the Lord? What type of life counts not for today but for all of eternity in His sight? The life of Mary serves as one of the best examples in the New Testament. When Mary found out that God had chosen her to be His vessel to bring the Christ child into the word, her response was one of humility. She was at God’s disposal to be used in any way that He saw fit. She saw herself as His servant. Her life, mind, body, and being belonged to the Lord. There was no evidence of resistance or rebellion to the Lord God. Why? Because her heart was submissive to Him. The life that God uses the greatest and that matters for eternity is a life that is completely submissive to God’s will, plan and purposes. That person who submits will count for eternity. Are our lives released to God for Him to do in us and through us whatever He chooses? Total submission is the key to a life of wonder and amazement.
