Matthew 1:21, “And she will have a Son and you shall name him Jesus (meaning Savior), for he will save his people from their sins.”
If you have ever come close to drowning, you know the joy of being “saved”. If you have ever had your heart stop and been resuscitated, you know what it is to be “saved”. The sobering truth of each of us is that we stand as wicked, vile, ungodly sinners before the Holy God of the universe. His holiness demands that all sin be dealt with by His divine wrath. There is coming a day when God in wrath will deal with all sin and all sinners. It will be a most horrible day, as millions will be banished from the presence of God….except for those who have been “saved”. Through Jesus entrance into the world, and his death on the cross, He saves all who genuinely believe in Him, and He saves them from the wrath of holy God. In a million years from now the redeemed will be singing the praises of God all because of His “salvation”. Oh the joy of knowing the wonder of being saved from the wrath of holy God who WILL deal with all sin out of his holiness. Praise His name for salvation! Will you believe in Jesus to rescue you from your sins?
