If there was a man in Scripture that was the beneficiary of the blessings of the Lord, it was Solomon. He was given understanding beyond anyone of his time, along with prominence, position, all by the hand of the Lord. No person in his time or since had the understanding and wisdom that he did in solving life situation, problems, and difficulties. Yet, there came a day in his life when he was no longer interested in the Lord God of Israel. It happened as his head was turned by his wives, to serve and honor other gods other than the Lord God. The sobering truth was…Solomon didn’t know himself. He may have thought himself to be true and faithful to God, but others turned his attention away from God. If we are not careful, others can turn our attention away from God, to serving other gods. It is totally possible for your spouse to turn your head from the Living God, to idol gods. Solomon found that there was a sobering price to pay for turning from God…and he would pay it. If you turn your heart from God…there is a high price to pay…and all who do will pay it!
