1 Chronicles 10:13 (TLB) “Saul died for his disobedience to the Lord…”
A sword, a suicide and an untimely death….is the closing scene of a life that once had the promise and the power of God upon His life. But why? The answer is found in a heart of disobedience to the Living God. God had chosen Saul to be the king over the nation of Israel, but Saul chose disobedience rather than obedience to God…and it cost him his life. We may desire to say “God how can you do that?” But the truth is, the creation has no right to question the Creator. We are the created, and He is the Creator, Sustainer and Life Giver. There is always a price to pay for disobedience. If you fail to believe that, you are in grave danger. God is the Creator of His universe and He has created a world whereby obedience brings blessings and disobedience brings blight. If you are struggling in one way or another…it may well be wise to ask yourself the honest question… “Do I take obedience to God seriously?” Just as it happened years ago, it is totally possible to find pain and even death through disobedience, for God’s Word is eternally serious.
