Romans 1:1 (TLB) Dear friends in Rome: This letter is from Paul, Jesus Christ’s slave, chosen to be a missionary, and sent out to preach God’s Good News.
If you are redeemed of God, how do you see yourself? The apostle Paul saw himself as a “slave” of Jesus Christ. While the term “slave” carries many thoughts, feelings and emotions inside of man, Paul nonetheless viewed himself as “slave to Christ”. Paul viewed himself as: 1) Being owned by Jesus Christ. 2) Belonging only to Jesus Christ. 3) Existing for the purposes of Jesus Christ. 4) Having no agenda but the agenda of Jesus Christ. What would happen the world over if we lived as “slaves” to Jesus? A watching world would see men and women of the highest integrity, living for the express purpose of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
