1 Corinthians 3:13 (TLB) There is going to come a time of testing at Christ’s Judgment Day to see what kind of material each builder has used. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire so that all can see whether or not it keeps its value, and what was really accomplished.
This very day we are reminded of the consuming power of fire all around us. Regardless of a building’s beauty or grandeur, those things that are unable to withstand fire are consumed and they are consumed rapidly. Our Lord reminds us that there is a day in which we will appear before Him, and all our earthly life we be laid bare before Him. The entire body of our life’s work will be put through the fire, to see if it will last or be consumed. If you are redeemed of God, God will evaluate your life’s work…was it done to glorify Him, to be a blessing to others, or was your life’s work done for the glory and gratification of self, to magnify self, to make self happy above everything in life? God in love warns us all through life that the day of holy judgment is coming. The question we must ask is this…are we ready for the fire of God’s judgment over our life’s works?
