Psalm 32:1 (TLB) What happiness for those whose guilt has been forgiven! What joys when sins are covered over! What relief for those who have confessed their sins and God has cleared their record.
Did you know that just past the door of confession, there is a glorious and wonderful door of happiness and joy that God opens to that person who is humbly sorry for their sins? The God who created us, knew that within our humanity there would be a struggle to confess our sins and be open with Him. We struggle with confession because we don’t want to admit what we have done and there is also the constant whisper of Satan that, “It is ok, others are doing it!” Yet, where there is a person who is truly sorry for their sin before Holy God, God has decreed for them His amazing overflowing joy and removal of all guilt after confession. Confession in truth is not us giving God any new information, but rather owning up to our own failures and asking God to cleanse us of all unrighteousness. Take time to confess your sins, and guilt before the Lord, and watch as He brings a flood of joy to your soul after you have “come clean” with Him. God loves to cleanse us and give us His abundant life. Are will humble enough to confess our sins…is the ultimate question?
