Romans 1:1, “Dear friends in Rome: Paul, Jesus Christ’s slave, chosen to be a missionary, and sent out to preach God’s Good News.”
How do you see yourself before the God who saved you? Paul saw himself as a “slave” to Jesus Christ. In the day that Paul lived a slave was owned by his master. The slave existed for his master and had no other reason for existence. It was the role of the slave to serve the master and he existed for service. Paul knew that the slave’s will belonged to the master. Do you see yourself as a “slave” to Jesus Christ? We miss the greatest and highest calling when we refuse to walk as “slaves to Christ”. To serve the King of kings and Lord of lords is the highest and greatest calling in all the world, and someday we will see and know exactly how grand it was when we see Jesus face to face.
