Genesis 31:11, “Then, in my dream, the Angel of God called to me.”
It is totally possible for God to use angels to speak to us in and through the means of dreams. While we are not to focus on asking God to use angels to speak to us through dreams, this one text reveals that in the life of God’s servant, Jacob, God had watched his mistreatment, and through a dream, God’s angel spoke to him and told him to take a certain action about mating the goats. The point reveals that God had seen how badly mistreated Jacob had been by Laban, and God used an angel to speak to Jacob during a dream. When God speaks to us through His angels, we know what they have said, and we know what we are to do, and it is clear how to go about it. God never speaks in “fuzzy” language, but in ways we can understand. The purpose of God’s angel speaking was for encouragement and a reminder that god had seen Jacob’s actions during many years of mistreatment. God will never forget us but come to us and guide us all along the journey of life.
