1 Peter 5:7, “Casting all your anxiety on Him….” (NASB)
You are overwhelmed with life. Friends have abandoned you. Life seems impossible to face. Loneliness is the feeling deep in your soul. Bills are mounting higher with less means of income. You are inundated with many concerns and worries of life. In short, you are overwhelmed. The good news in all of this is that none of it comes without God’s full knowledge. He knew it was on its way, and He has a divine purpose in all of it. He is using all the events of your life, even the overwhelming ones, to teach us to “cast” our anxieties on him. The picture of cast is the picture of throwing something over something or someone. It is the Father’s desire that we get alone in private and surrender all the “overwhelming times” to Him. He loves us and He wants us to “throw” them all at His feet. When you “throw” your problems at the Lord, He will hear you and He will bring about victory in real ways . . . because He sees you trusting in Him. Try “casting” in private and see what the Father does!
