Genesis 3:8, “That evening they heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden; and they hid themselves among the trees.”
You have blown it, and sinned in one way or another. Maybe you have violated your integrity, character or even the body God has given you. How does God respond to us at those times? Is His voice a voice of harshness, sternness, like a domineering parent? Not at all. The truth is, when we have sinned and walked away from God, He still speaks to us in a tones of goodness, grace and life. Adam and Eve have sinned, but they find in God’s voice a voice of kindness, love and compassion, even as before they had sinned. If you believe God is out to browbeat you when you sin, you have an inaccurate picture of the God of the Bible. While sin carries with it consequences, God is far more anxious to forgive than we are to ask forgiveness. Ask Him today to forgive you and you will find a wonderful, loving God who yearns to restore joy to your life.
