Ephesians 5:1, “Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children.” (NASB)
What is the goal of the Christian life? To many the goal of being “saved” is to “escape hell”. While that is a reality, that is not the primary purpose of salvation. Our call as Christians is to allow God to reproduce in us godliness, holiness, in so much we look, walk and act like the Lord Jesus Christ. Just as we look like our early parents through the passing of time, so we are to look like our heavenly Father in the Christian life. The ultimate end of our lives is that we become more “graceful”, “merciful”, “tender”, “kind”, “gentle”, just like our Father in heaven is toward us. How much or little are you imitating your heavenly Father this day?
