Deuteronomy 14: 23, “…The purpose of tithing is to teach you always to put God first in your lives.”
The God who created us is a jealous God. He will allow no other competitors in our lives. When we do have something in our life that takes priority over God, He will lovingly remove His blessings to teach us that our first allegiance is Him. God has so designed the purpose of tithing (10%) to constantly check our lives in demonstration of His place in our lives. God has given us all that we have. We live and move and have our being because of God. He yearns to bless our lives, but His blessings come with allegiance to Him. If you are wondering where the blessings of God are in your life…His call is to evaluate His place in your life and living. When God finds a life that puts Him first, He crowns that life with all types of blessings in every way. Why? Because He loves to bless any life that puts Him first. God gives His promise all throughout Scripture that He will bless the life that obeys Him. What does the tithe reveal of your life before God? Does it find you putting Him first or someplace else?
