Luke 13:1, “But the angel said, ‘Don’t be afraid, Zacharias! For I have come to tell you that God has heard your prayer, and your wife, Elizabeth, will bear a son! And you are to name him John.’ “
You pray and it seems like nothing is happening! You get on your knees before God and heaven seems silent! You pray again and again and it seems that all is to no avail! Is prayer really worth the effort and time spent! God makes it clear in this one verse that prayers never go a begging, when they are prayed to the honor of His holy name. Zacharias had prayed many prayers for a child! Many requests had been uttered to the Lord! And God sent an angel to inform him that his prayers had been heard! When we are serious before God and offer prayers over and over to his glory….He will hear and answer our prayers. That is His Word. Prayers that are prayed in fervency never go a begging. God will move heaven and earth for His praying ones. Just as God sent an angel to Zacharias, God will send confirmation to our hearts as well. Are you praying? Are you praying to the glory of God or to the glory of self? Prayers genuine, sincere and fervent never go a begging!
