Acts 5:29, “But Peter and the apostles replied, ‘We must obey God rather than men’.”
Two thousand years ago, there was the challenge to the apostles to put away their preaching, teaching, and their stand for the one true God. Leadership was compelling them to put away this teaching in that society. Why? Because the preaching of the gospel of Jesus Christ is powerful and effective. It is the power of God unto salvation, and in the preaching there is the changing of lives from eternal doom to eternal life. It is the goal of Satan today to stop the preaching, teaching of the Word of God…to lead people into his satanic eternal kingdom of darkness, death, and hell. Now two thousand years, the same reality is at work, because Satan doesn’t change his plan or agenda. Peter made the ultimate choice of following Jesus. May it be said of the redeemed, that we lived and died obeying God rather than man.
