Genesis 12:1 (TLB) “God had told Abram, ‘Leave your own country behind you, and your own people, and go to the land I will guide you to’.”
It is the nature of God to come to us and test our heart for the purpose of checking our loyalty and devotion to Him. In the case of Abram, God chose to test him by giving him a tremendous directive, one that would carry blessings in obedience and blight in disobedience. God has not changed today one iota. Make no mistake about it, God will come to your life and give you a directive that is seemingly impossible to keep. Yet, in obeying God’s command and directive for your life there is blessing. However, in disobedience there is blight and much of it. When we follow God’s directive, He always promises His guidance along the way. If God has come to you and given you a seemingly difficult directive…make obedience a priority, no matter what others say or do. For it is only in obedience that the blessings of God flow, nothing less.
