2 Corinthians 13:5, “Check up on yourselves. Are you really Christians? Do you pass the test? Do you feel Christ’s presence and power more and more within you?”
There are eternal consequences in our lives for pretending to be a Christian when in reality we are not. To be a genuine Christians always results in real proof and fruit of salvation. A genuine Christian reveals his or her changed life by authentic behavior pleasing to the Lord. An authentic Christian knows deep within there is the presence of Christ, and there is a desire to please Him. Jesus put it this way, “My sheep hear my voice, I know them and they follow me.” If there is a claim on salvation yet no desire to follow Jesus, then genuine salvation is absent. The call of God is to “check” yourself. False salvation will result in eternal doom before a Holy God.
