Psalm 89:50-52 (TLB) 50 Lord, see how all the people are despising me. 51 Your enemies joke about me, the one you anointed as their king. 52 And yet—blessed be the Lord forever! Amen and amen!
There are a thousand “Why’s?” that we utter from time to time before the Lord. “Why have you forgotten me?” “Why do the wicked seem to overtake the righteous?” The list goes on and on with each passing day of our life. David couldn’t understand all that was taking place in his life. He couldn’t understand all that God was permissively allowing him to face in life. Yet, no matter what he faced, he would not cease to praise the Lord. God doesn’t expect us to understand this one dimension of life with all its complexities. God doesn’t expect us to understand those deep dark times in our life. However, in spite of all that we “don’t understand”, we can still choose to praise the Lord. If life is overwhelming today…choose to praise the Lord. If you are in the darknesses of life…choose to praise the Lord. After all, He has us in the palm of His hand and He cannot forget us. He cannot let us go, and even if we walk out of this world today…He will take all His redeemed to a glorious eternity of wonder and amazing beauty.
