Mark 4:38 (TLB) Jesus was asleep at the back of the boat with his head on a cushion. Frantically they wakened him, shouting, “Teacher, don’t you even care that we are all about to drown?”
When was the last time you walked through a difficult time in your life and asked the question, “Lord, don’t you care about my life and what I’m going through?” The reality of our fallen sinful nature is that we often times question the love of God while we are in the midst of our storms. Such was the case with the disciples. In the midst of their storm they raised this question, “Teacher, don’t you eve care that we are all about to drown?” Their fear exceeded their faith in this storm in their life. When we are prone to question the care of God over our lives, it is in that moment that our fear has gotten the best of us. The truth is, God’s love was settled for us at the cross when Jesus gave His life that we could be forgiven of our sins and have a relationship with Him. Since God gave His very Son for us, we never need to wonder of His intimate and personal love for us regardless of what we may feel in that moment.
