Our human nature doesn’t enjoy brutal honesty. However, the brutal honesty of each of us is that we deserve no good thing from God. Our human, fallen sinful nature deserves to be punished an punished for all eternity. Our sins deserve banishment from the presence of God for all eternity. Yet, in the glorious goodness of Holy God, He loves us and loves to show mercy and kindness to us. He shows kindness through washing us of our sins through the shed blood of Jesus Christ alone. He shows mercy with each passing moment and each passing day. If we think we deserve “good” from God, then we are terribly disoriented to who Holy God is and who we are. Ours is to give thanks to God because He treats us in goodness and with goodness. When we repent, He forgives us, cleanses us and fits us for eternity in paradise. Oh what a wonderful God He is!!! Thank Him today for His amazing and overflowing mercy and kindness. None of us deserve it!!!
