The Will
Inside each of us is a “will” (a decision making system). What we do with our will is of major consequence to our life and health. The psalmist knew the power of the will and chose with his will to “praise” the Lord. Praise lifts the spirit and reminds oneself that God is on control of His world. He also “willed” to “be glad”. Being glad is not based on the happenings of life, but rather a “choice” to focus on the God of the universe who has an eternal love for us with each passing day. A thousand negatives may happen to our lives, but when we stop and realize that God is watching over us to love us, care for us and be with us, then life changes radically. What “will” you choose to do today? You can focus upward on a God who cares or you can focus outward on a world full of problems. Why not focus upward and watch what God does in your soul and spirit this very day.
