There is nothing in the world like salt. Salt carries within it a distinctiveness and difference from any other compound in the world. Salt protects, enhances taste and preserves. These are each reminders of who Christians are to be before a watching world. Genuine Christianity results in our lives being lived under the direction and dictates of God’s Word. Christians protect and preserve their world through obedience to God’s commands. If we choose to reject the commands of God, then saltiness ceases and our life of usefulness before God ceases. Is your life a life of saltiness through obedience to God and His Word or has your life ceased to count for God because you have lost your desire to obey God.
