Are you aware that there is a point when prayer is ineffective? When and where there is persistent, willful, rebellion there comes a point when prayer is futile. God announced this truth in the midst of a nation that walked away from him in overt rebellion. Even the prayers of Moses and Samuel would have no effective on the heart of God, because God had watched a nation choose rebellion and idols over and above the Living God. God was ruthless to the nation of Israel because they willfully chose to go away from the Lord. God’s nature has not and will not change. When a nation persists in rebellion and disobedience, there comes a time when God will announce, “Away with them”. Prayers will not save a rebellious obstinate people from the holy and divine judgment of God. His judgments are sure and His Word is final.
